AMR Gold Joins NGOs To Support Inter-Primary School Competition

To develop a good physical well being and promote a healthy living, AMR Gold  has partnered with local and international Non-Governmental Organisations to sponsor one of the most popular inter-primary schools sport competitions.

Inter Aid, Street Child and the Kamakwie Community Bank, as well as AMR Gold, each partnered with a local primary school in Bombali District, Northern Sierra Leone. The four schools Muslim Primary School, Roman Catholic primary school, BDEC and WCSL primary school competed, each baring the name of one of the sponsors.

The two-day inter-primary schools sport meet was attended by the representatives of the Bombali District education office, pupils, parents, teachers and staff of various organizations.

Representing the youths who organized the event, Mohamed Daramy described the partnership as unity in diversity among organisations operating in the District. He thanked and appreciated the Board of Directors and Management of AMR Gold for being the lead sponsor.

He said each school represented one of the sponsoring organizations with a specific colour for easy identification: AMR Gold-Red; Inter Aid-Green; Kamakwie Community Bank-Yellow and Street Child-Blue. At the end of the event AMR Gold house emerged as the winner defeating arch rival, Inter Aid house.

AMR Gold’s Admin and Finance Manager, Mohamed Sultan Daffae explained that the company collaborated with other organisations to motivate the pupils and provide a serene learning environment where parents, teachers and pupils would have the opportunity to have fun.

He said education is not only limited to the class room as sports is part of children’s curricula activities.
