AMR Gold Confirms New Management Team

AMR Gold announced today that following the recent restructuring and successful refinancing, a new management team has been appointed. The new team comprises Dr Jan Ketelaar (Country Manager), Mr Salim Sillah (Chief Geologist) and Mr Mohamed Daffae (Chief Finance Officer).

Jan is a mining engineer who knows Sierra Leone well, having worked as an advisor to DIFID and the World Bank as well as a period as Mine Manager at Koidu Holdings.

Mohamed has been working for AMR Gold for more than two years and has played an important role in steering the company through the recent difficult times. Mohamed has also played a leading role in the company’s relationships and programmes with local communities.

Salim has been instrumental in the development of an expert and experienced geological team which has now defined a gold resource on the Loko Hills Licences and also identified and defined coltan, tin and associated gold targets.

The in-country team will be supported by the Senior Technical Advisor, Colin Harris, who has over 40 years’ experience in the exploration for and evaluation of mineral deposits with notable expertise in Western and Central Africa; and by Gary Vallerius (Director and Group CFO), who brings an additional 25 years of commercial and financial experience in the African mining sector.

AMR Gold has formally notified the Government of Sierra Leone, Chiefdom authorities and all stakeholders of these changes to the management team.

To this end it should be noted that Mr Shraga Israel is no longer a director of AMR Gold SL as certified by the Registrar General’s office in. It should also be noted that Messrs Shraga Israel and Raphael Israel no longer represent AMR Gold in any capacity and cannot enter into any agreements for or on behalf of AMR Gold relating to Exploration Licence Numbers EL48/2011, EL 49/2011 and EL50/2011 in the Loco Hills area of Sierra Leone.

Despite the on-going Ebola crisis AMR Gold has recommenced its exploration and evaluation programmes on its three Loko Hills Exploration Licences for gold, tin, coltan and accessory minerals.

The planned programmes proposed by AMR Gold are designed to bring employment and long term sustainability to our areas of operation whilst working in close co-operation with local Paramount Chiefs, local administrators, local communities and in full compliance with the Laws of Sierra Leone, the Mining Policy and the terms and conditions of our Exploration Licences.
